The Details on the New Music Player - March 27th, 2006

We finally got the new version of the Music player up and running on the site this past weekend! There are several new features on this version. Right off the bat, when you open the site the musicplayer should be there on the page. No more waiting for a minute watching it load. And this should be the case for anyone with a cable modem or DSL. If you are working with a 56K dial up modem it probably is slower.

In addition to faster loading, the new version starts playing the first track once the page is loaded. that first song of course is Bernie Torme's Wild West. And if you come back to the site it will play the next song, where ever you left off before on your last visit. So it will work thru the entire playlist if you are there long enough and there is an hour of music to listen to.

We have to two new bands in the music player, the Love Pirates and AntiProduct. The Love Pirates hit the Wild West Stage last summer, playing with Queen V over at the Vintage in White Plains. Now we have their song "Party" listed in the music player.

The other band, AntiProduct is a group coming out of London and who routinely turn to Bernie Torme for their studio projects, and that is the case with this song. The song is "Good Vibrations", an amazing version of the Beach Boys classic. The Wild West was esspecially lucky here as this track has not even been released yet. It is a Wild West exclusive and AntiProduct is owed a special thanks for that! So for those of you into AntiProduct, the Wild West is for the moment, the only place offering this recording. And I should not it is only a sample. It is 4:00 minutes plus and offer a minute of that.

In addition to new bands we have new material from Queen V, the New Professionals, Pigeon and Honor Among Thieves. Plus there are now four tacks from Bernie Torme, two from the 80's and two from more recent in the 90s. Lastly we have the boot of the Smoke On The Water, which has been on the site fo awhile now, but now included on the player. Again that boot was recorded at Emerald City outside Philadelphia back in 1980 and features Ian Gillan and Bernie Torme.

So check it out and if you see anything lacking, let us know, drop us a note. The licks to band websites will be coming shortly, we just need to figure out why JavaScript is not working with the Flash 8 technology. And stay tune as we will soon enough offer not only the music player, but a bit of video of the new GMT song "Cannonball".
