A Blast from the Past

With the mild weather we have had the last few days, I managed to climb out of my basement office and usual work stuff at least for a bit. I got to drive around town a bit. Nothing too exciting-a trip to Carvel, and running down to White Plains to drop the wife off at work. Some wild stuff no doubt!

That said, I did have a pleasurable moment. Great weather, driving around, with a Paul McCartney CD playing. My son got me it for Christmas and I finally got to listen to it and it just hit the spot. Extremely mellow stuff, a series of silly love songs-Band on the Run, I Love You, and of course Live and Let Die. I think it just goes back to when I was a kid, listening to the AM radio back in the 70s. I want to say it was WABC. Mainly in my mom's 67 Mustang. It was a long time ago but alot of those songs were from that period and they still have an effect. Yikes I was like 10 years old!

I know most folks hold the Beatles as sacred. For me it is McCartney and Wings and I think it was the AM Radio in the car running around town with my mom as a kid. I remember later on in my teens, there was a simulcast between a local Philly FM station and TV channel, playing some type of Wings tour documentary. I was all intrigued with that too. That was before McCartney was busted for pot while on tour in Japan (LOL).

Anyway, it was simply cool to hear those songs in the car again on a balmy spring day and night including a trip to Carvel-another blast from my past I guess.
